O'side!
So I've never used one of those run tracker type apps because I don't run :D, but I think it would be cool to track when I take the dog for a walk. If you have used a few what be do you think would be good for this use?

the new nike app has some good reviews

I use the new Nike app for both running and walking (yes, even walking the dog). Since it uses GPS, it works very well regardless of how you're moving. My only issue is when I have to stop to wait for the dog to take a shi*%. It messes up your pace recordings in the app!!

Lots of options.

Runmeter
RunKeeper Free/Pro
Nike+ GPS

There's also WalkMeter and BikeMeter, both are the same as RunMeter, just different icons and different default "types." All can select Walking, Running or Biking as the type of event.

I'd Try RunKeeper Free for now. See how it works for you. Then if you want something more indepth spend some cash on one of the others.

Since I got pretty serious with my running I couldn't handle the inaccuracies of the iPhone GPS and ended up getting a Garmin Forerunner. Much better and amazing battery life compared to the iPhone with one of these apps.
