Ok, I've rediscovered RuneScape after not playing for about 9 years. This time instead of playing on a PC(crappy 350MHz Pentium III,LOL) I'm using my G4 "half ball" iMac, 800MHz, with 756M of ram, OS 10.3.9 and running in Standard def(not HD).
RuneScape is VERY skippy while playing. I know the GeForce 2MX vid chip should play this game a lot better because I can/did play Diablo II LOD online and it ran smooth as ice.
I hit the archives here and bumped my Java memory allocation up to 512M for both sets of Java that's on my computer but it's still skippy. My grandson plays RuneScape on his mom's laptop with Windows and it's real smooth game play. So am I missing something here, is there a tweak that I can do to speed things up more so I'll get smooth game play on RuneScape too? Thanks in advance. Talk to ya'll later.

So is there Nothing I can do to get this game to run smoothly on my iMac? If it's a Mac problem then pickin' up a new Mac Mini wouldn't solve it so I'd just be wasting my money as far as RuneScape is concerned although I would have a better computer then my current one.

Runescape uses a huge amount of system resources. People have reported more then WoW. Try using a desktop client or another browser. At the very least there may be a memory leak or your Java needs updated.

Out of the 4 browsers I have RuneScape seems to run best on Camino. I have the latest Java updates for 10.3.9 so I should be ok there. Tell me more about this memory leak. What is it and how can I fix it.
