Hey Guys,
I was just wondering why Runescape HD plays much, much better in windows via Bootcamp then in OS X. Any ideas or suggestions to fixing this rather annoying problem would be greatly appreciated!:D

Thanks!

I've been pretty curious about this myself...

I think it has something to do with Java sucking on OS X.

I can't think of any solution other then sticking to bootcamp if you want better performance. maybe somebody else has a better answer though...

Thanks for the reply asphyxiafeeling! I think you are absolutely right about Java sucking is OS X. I just wasn't sure if there was a workaround or not.:D

I've heard allotting more memory to Java on OSX helps things, but I'm not 100% on how to do it. I did one thing, which was go to application->Utilities->Java preferences.. within the general tab, select the first Java Applet Plugin listed (which is the one your computer is using), click on options and type in -Xmx1024m, the number (in my case 1024) would depend on how much ram you have and how much you want to allot to Java,

NEVER allot more than half your current ram though. I have 4GB so I stuck one in there. It did smooth out the gameplay but I still get frozen screens eventually when zoning out of places.

Not sure how to avoid the frozen screens... it's really pissing me off too cause I'm not risking doing barrows when I never know when my app will lock. :S
