My old mp3 (Rio) died and I need something new for when I go running and work out. I obviously don't want to run with my iPhone (except running w/ Pandora streaming would be cool :D).

So I'm looking at the shuffle as that is an obvious option. The new one looks cool, especially in black. :apple: I like the added storage, but I guess 4gb is a little excessive for running since I can change playlists if I want new songs. However this is the big one, I don't like the stock Apple earbuds. I have never had luck with them; they like to fall out of my ears. Just poorly fit my ear. So I know I can get the Apple in-ear headphones, but paying that much kinda defeats the purpose of having something cheap to go running with.

So is the 2G the obvious choice? Also, how capable are they in small amounts of rain? I'm not talking about hurricane storms, but a small light shower?

So I am guessing since no one is standing up for the 3G shuffle that the 2G is the way to go? Thanks guys.

I've trained for and run marathons with every generation of the shuffle, but the latest version. I make sure it goes in my water bottle pack so it doesn't get drenched in sweat.
