I guys,

Can anyone give me a clue on how I can run a software in a website using a mac. I'm trying to plan a scientific web-application that requires the user to access a software, installed on my server, and "play" with all its options.
By this time I just need a felling from more experienced people on whether this is a huge task, or not.

Thanks for you help

Cheers

Depends on the "software" you want to run.

If it is a desktop application that has a GUI, then allowing people to come to your website and run that application won't work.

Software that runs on a server needs to be designed to run in that environment. Is your software designed to run in that environment?

Applets are a popular choice for running software from a web page.

We (at least I do) need more info.

Hi!

Thanks for the answer!
Indeed it is a desktop application that as a GUI interface, and the plan was to use this interface in the website.
The version I have (and is freely available) wasn't design to run from a webserver, but I'll investigate if there is a version that was.

Cheers
