Hello! I have had a recent issue with my Macbook Air 2011 permissions. Here's the rundown: My school distributes these Macs for us to use, and recently they have locked down the permissions on everyone. It appears that we can only run applications from the "Applications" folder. Our user accounts do not have admin access, so we cannot edit the "Applications" folder. If we try to run an app from any other random directory, it says we do not have permission to run the app. They have also blocked Terminal (Terminal now closes after 3-15 seconds after opening), but I use the Automator Apple Script to run terminal commands quickly in that time window. One of my friend's friend has found a way to run apps from a directory via the Terminal by using the "mkdir" and "chmod 777" commands. I have played out with this unsuccessfully. Any ideas on how to run apps?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I do not have access to "su" or "sudo" commands. I need an admin password for it.

I don't know if that helps. I know the rwx on the left are read/write/execute permissions, but whats the + and @ symbols after them?

EDIT: I have also seen the way to take out a stick of RAM, and use single user mode to make another account, but I'd rather not go that way.
