Hi,
I have a new MacBook Pro and am running Crossover for my PC apps. Wondering if anyone else has tried it. Most of my programs work but I still have some issues. The nice thing is--I DON'T need a copy of Windows to run my PC apps...but some things do crash and/or won't run.
That being said, I have some questions about everyone's success with Parrells. I have several web sites I must use for my company that crash on Crossover..my company says its because of Java and server issues. Does anyone have these issues running Parrells? I cannot use Outlook on Crossover, it doesn't see the server (although I can surf thru IE just fine).
Also, I used to have Virtual PC and with it, a copy of Window XP. If I purchase Parrells, do I need a new copy of Windows XP or should the Virtual PC version work...I mean, I paid for it, so I shouldn't need to buy another license, but is the VPC version only able to run on VPC?
I just really don't want to buy Parells, then Windows (again) and THEN find out that yes, some PC things (particularly Office and IE stuff) still won't run on my mac. Our company makes us do our timesheet in IE6.0 on the PC (ONLY) and we use XML in Word.
Feedback/Suggestions?
Thanks!
