Running MB Lid-Closed?

I've seen some people talking about running a MB with the lid closed and an external display. Some people said that it could warp the screen, but I've also seen people saying that it's fine. But this was all a bit of time ago. Has a general conclusion been reached? I'm going to be placing my MB on an elevated shelf with a wire mesh bottom, so there should be good airflow and if need be I can aim a fan at it to cool it off. Would this be totally safe? If there's a chance that my screen will be damaged, I will run it with the lid open. Also, do I need the SleepLess download? Will downloading it void the warrenty? Thanks!

Lid closed mode for the MacBooks is officially supported. As long as you use the external display and keyboard, you won't need SleepLess.

Some people are cautious about running their notebooks with the lid closed, but I think it's fine on machines for which it is supported.

I have a powerbook and want to buy an external monitor and use a the new wireless keyboard with it. Will that work with the powerbook lid closed?

Yes...see Apple's support article on how to use your PB in lid-closed mode with a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse.

Its some of the ibooks you have to worry about as some of them cool through the keyboard.
