Start MacBookPro in Target mode and connect it to MacPro via Thunderbolt cable. Than run MacPro from MBP OSX. How fast would it run? About the same as external TB enclosure or much slower due to MBP architecture or something? I'm talking SSD of course.

Try it and see for yourself. Unless you're running benchmarks, you probably won't notice much of a difference.
