Been running my New MacPro 4 core on Yosemite fir a while now. No problems.
Sierra is almost out.
Think it's OK to upgrade to ElCapitan now or should I stay on Yosemite? I am not super stoked on not having as much control with ElCaps Disk utility.

What say you guys n' gals?

The control in Disk Utility did return in Sierra. Sierra does have a lot of performance improvements over El Capitan. You could wait until the first few patch releases on Sierra, and then move straight to Sierra?

The last version of El Capitan was not great, and it won't receive any more fixes in the future. It might be worth thinking about skipping straight to Sierra. Sierra is where El Capitan issues got fixed, but there could be some new bugs lurking I don't know about.
