Is M1 Mac able to run older non-M1-optimized versions of iWork apps, or would I be forced to use newer versions? I would going between an M1 Mac and 2009 iMac running Mojave. I’ve had saving issues when the versions are different between my current MacBook (2017 Air) and the iMac.

Not that old — Pages 8.2, Keynote 9.1. Maybe a better question is — would an M1 Mac have any problems running a Mojave compatible version of an iWork app and could I edit the same files on an Intel Mac and M1 Mac? Maybe this is a silly question.

How old are we talking about...? iWork '09...?
I'm interested in running iWork '09 (the best version) on Apple Silicon, but outside of using a virtual machine I'm not currently sure how that'd be possible.

Are there such things as like VM wrappers? Sort of like how Crossover for Windows works, but for Mac?
