Hi everyone!

I just finished upgrading to iOS 15.4 about an hour ago and went into my settings to check my available storage since I only have a total of 64 GB on my iPhone 11 Pro and it’s currently showing that I have roughly 13 GB available.

I’ve attached a few screenshots to this post but it looks like the apps that are taking up the most space on my iPhone are photos, music and Safari. I’m not sure why photos is taking up 7.23 GB since I have the ‘optimize iPhone storage’ setting turned on.

Music is taking up 4.26 GB and Safari is taking up 1.13 GB and it appears that there’s nothing I can do to clear that storage off of my iPhone so I was wondering if anybody knew of any troubleshooting steps that I can take to remove the 4.26 GB of data that music is taking up as well as the 1.13 GB that Safari is taking up on my iPhone.

Thanks in advance!

If it won’t let you remove the music data I’m guessing you synced it to your iPhone via iTunes or the music app, if that’s the case you need to connect your iPhone and unsync the music to remove it.

I don’t use iTunes for my music. I use Apple Music exclusively and stream all of my music so that it’s not stored locally on the device. I don’t know what is even taking up the 4.26 GB in the music app.

So I only use Apple Music and it does let you store music locally for playlists etc if you choose too.

It’s gives me the option to remove that data, which is why I suggested it may have been synced from iTunes instead.

Do you have a crazy amount of playlists or anything like that?

How many albums / songs do you have in your library? I’m guessing the music app will store things like album art locally.

I did that - I didn’t have that many songs or playlists that were stored locally so it only freed up a fraction of the 4.26 GB of data.

It gave me the option to ‘offload app’ so I tried that to see if it might fix the problem but it’s still saying that there is 4.24 GB of ‘documents & data’ being stored in iCloud and I really would like to know what that data consists of and how to remove it. I’ve attached a few of the screenshots as well
