Running Parallels Ideal For All MP3 Players?

Hello,

Just a quick question, I have recently installed parallels in an effort to be able to transfer some mp3's that have been copied from my iTunes folder in OS X, to those created in the parallels shared folder on the Windows XP desktop. I have been spying up various mp3 players that don't seem to be Mac compatible(Sandisk Sansa E280, Creative Zen V etc) would running Windows XP in parallels and using my copied over mp3's from my iTunes folder which was created in OS X to the parallels shared folder be a problem if I was to use a non apple compatible mp3 player such as those mentioned above? I know the obvious answer would be to just go out and buy an ipod nano, but there is some nice alternative mp3 players out there on the market and I'm confused as to whether running parallels, the mp3 player would transfer music files etc over the same as what it would on a normal PC.

I have seen countless posts on creative's and sandisks forums asking for Mac support with no joy. But I'm kind of thinking why don't people just use parallels/bootcamp and then copy over their mp3 files from OS X to a shared folder in XP on the desktop and then drag and drop them rather than waiting around for any such updates to appear??

My wife is probably going to get a SanDisk Sansa e250 for her birthday. We are choosing the e250 over the Nano because it has a FM receiver and it costs US$40 less. Either that or a shuffle. (She wants something small)

Anyway, there is a program called SyncTunes that will supposibly sync iTunes and any mountable memory card device (flash mp3 players). I don't know how well it works, but will post back if we get the Sansa.

SyncTunes works well. I use it with my Motorola RIZR Z3.
What you don't get with a non-iPod is the synchronization of play counts between the player and iTunes.

One thing with this SyncTunes, is that I think it marks all synced podcasts as not new, so if you don't play them later in the device you lose track of what you miss listening to.

There is also XNJB which also has iTunes integration, is free and works with many many different devices, even those which don't show up as a hard disk on your Mac (like the Zen Xtra).
