Is anyone running Sierra with only 2 GB? I've got a late 2010 MBA with 2 GB, and am reluctant to upgrade, especially since I tried one of the last betas and it made my Mac all but useless (unless you love watching beachballs).

The system will page quite heavily with only 2GB RAM. I'd recommend against it if possible.

If you're already on Yosemite or El Cap, then it won't hurt to upgrade. If you're on Mavericks or lower, I'd stick with what you're on.

I agree that it can tend to page with 2GB, but actually I've found it works better than Lion and Mountain Lion. Mavericks and later introduced Compressed Memory which really helps with RAM efficiency.

Even so, don't have a lot of stuff set to run automatically on login, you want to keep background processes to a minimum.

I'm running El Cap, and it's just fine as far as snappiness goes. So it will be more or less the same with Sierra?
