Running Star Wars: The Old Republic on an iMac 27"

Hello! Basically I'm dying to play SW:TOR, which is a Windows game. I'm wondering is partitioning my Hard Drive using 'Boot Camp' a sensible decision? Would the game run well? Would there be any problems/conflicts etc..

As you may be able to tell, I've not got a clue!

if you want to set up a dual boot to turn your iMac into a PC... sure, Bootcamp is the easiest way to do that. It should run fine because your installing Windows like any other PC and it'll be able to do anything any other PC can with the same specs, because it is a "PC" when Windows is installed directly like that and running.

I had the same question, I have both a early 2011 13" MacBook Pro and a 2011 27" iMac. I loaded it up in bootcamp on my MacBook Pro first to see if it would work with the Intel HD 3000 chipset or not because I wasn't sure and it works great. I figured if it didn't I would just put it on the iMac but so far no issues. So basically putting it in bootcamp on a 27" iMac should work very well, even more so since they have dedicated graphics cards compared to a chipset.

I have a 2011 15" macbook pro with 1gb 6750m 4gb ram 750GB hdd. and it runs will in bootcamp. I usually get between 25-35 fps while on planets fighting, 45-55 fps in cut scenes or cinematics. It did drop to 15ish on star fleet but I think that has to do with coding of the game because many people have issues on the star fleet. I have done a few flashpoints but I didn't look at the fps during them but it didn;t lag at all. I play at the auto-detected, most on on high, AA was on but not sure which setting for it and those are my fps. Not sure what hardware you have on your imac but it should top my numbers.

Im running on the top spec 20" 2011 imac. And it runs very well. Bootcamp and windows 7. The very latest imacs are fully capable of running games very well.

AA is of on all bootcamp games for me...get a big hit.
