I've been playing the original starcraft like its my job recently and really want to get the new one, but I'm concerned that my macbook won't be able to handle it. The fan already goes berserk running the original starcraft and wc 3. My machine is 2.2 ghz intel core 2 duo, 4 gb memory and intel gma x3100 video card. I really would like to get sc 2 but i don't think this machine is going to be able to handle it. Would appreciate someones input that has more experience with mac gaming and knows for sure whether or not I could run sc 2.

No, the x3100 is too weak. I dont think it's even supported on the mac version. It might run ok in boot camp.

You actually can't run it in Mac or Windows at all. Here are the minimum system requirements. Starcraft 2 does run natively in OS X, but my system has the bare minimum required to play it (MBP1,1). However, I stopped playing SC2 on this thing because it lags way too much. You (and I) would have to upgrade to a better system if you want to enjoy Starcraft 2.

I seen my friend with a macbook Intel GMA 950 run sc2 on windows 7.
All settings are the lowest, its playable depending how much action is on the screen.

Now you have a GMX X3100,which is 'slightly" better.

Starcraft 2 doesn't support either graphics cards on either OSs
But if you going to try it,run it on windows 7 since it has lower requirements then 10.6
