Ok I've made the decision to switch to the macs and was going to get a mbp but decided that the 24 iMac suits me better. (Incase you wanted to know :D)
Anyway, I am going to do a little bit of gaming on this computer and will most likely want to play a couple windows-only games so with bootcamp (right?) i can use put windows on the mac? If i do this, will my computer be vulnerable to viruses like my pc I'm on now? I know macs have the rep for getting little to no viruses and im worried that having windows on the machine will have me bombarded with viruses!

Yes you can install Windows in either Bootcamp or a Vm app like Fusion or Parallels.

If you run windows you risk virus's. If the virus has been designed to damage the boot sector it can possibly damage you Mac's ability to boot. If running Windows in a VM it can also damage some of your Mac volume files. It depends on the access rights the VM has to your Mac volumes.

Simply put if you run Windows you need AV, popup and Adware protection whether it is a VM, Bootcamp or regular PC.

If you're that worried and your games don't need you to, or you don't want to play online you could just disconnect the machine from the internet when you're using Windows.

no theyre all online games. so i think ill download popup and adware programs. I won't be surfing the internet at all just playing the games if i do use windows.
