iPod Running with iPod Nano - Which case/armband?

Hi!

I'm started to run with my Nano, and want to hear which case/armband to get. I've heard about Nike+', Marware and Belkin Sport Sleeve, but all known to built up sweat, so that the Nano will be faced with that. I would hate to have sweat on my Nano, so do you have any recommendation? For now, I just put the Nano into a sock and run with it in the hand.. and well - that works pretty well, but a real case would be nice. Any experiences you wanna share? :)
 
I have the Nike+ band. Sweat tends to build up underneath the band where iPod is housed (no air circulation), but the rest of the band breathes well. The band is also quite water resistant; I have not had any wet/sweaty iPod problems. In all, I'm quite happy with the band.
 
I'm going to say the opposite about the Nike+ band. I had mine and run 4-5 times a week for about 4-5 miles per run. Within two weeks I was getting errors on the ipod because of sweat buildup and then the nano just died on me. I had to buy a new one and now wear a sweat band under the Nike+ armband to keep sweat away from the nano. So far, so good . . . knock on wood.

My vote is for the Nike+ armband. While you're at it, you should buy the kit and join the monthly challenges here on Mac Rumors. :)

There is a monthly thread for the challenges so you could go look for that in the community section of the forums or you can send a PM to a forum member named ziwi and he will hook you up. :cool:
 
Did you get an armband yet? I use Nike's also. I've logged about 460 miles on mine so far, all with the same iPod, and I have not encountered any problems either. And that's over about 13 months... there are people in the Challenge team who run that much in two months! :eek: :p

I have a leather "incase" case made for a 1G (but I use it for my 2G) and it works great.

Above is the link to the 3G version. I have nothing but love for my case and this one appears to be similar. It firmly clips to your waistband and I've never had any problem with it falling off or being in any way unstable. If the 4G has the same form factor as the 3G, I will buy this case for it.

I found a Apple Leather Case cheap, and using that. I'm just helding it in my hand and run with it. It works allright. I also have the Apple Armband but have'nt tried it out yet..

Ain't no shame... I ran a marathon with a 3rd gen full-size iPod in my hand....

I love Nike+ because it makes me run more, faster, harder. It's far from perfect, but it does a great job at that.
