Hi,
my original Apple AMD gfx card has gone. So I read all hints and infos about replacing gfx cards in Mac Pro 3.1 all over the www ;)
I choose a cheap Sapphire RX 560 Pulse, because several users reports a go for this card.
But it doesn’t work in my 3.1. I only get a white screen on boot.
Placing the card in an borrowed 4.1 Mac Pro, the card works right out the box.
Than I tested a Nvidia GTX 960 from the 4.1 Mac Pro in my 3.1, and the Nvidia woks fine.
Replacing the Nvidia with the new RX 560 I only get a white screen.
Any suggestions?

Mac Pro 3.1: dosdude1 patched 10.13.2
Mac Pro 4.1: macOS Sierra 10.12.6

The Devil is in the Details.

While I use a Sapphire RX 460 in my 3,1 daily w/ Sierra - it's not an absolutely perfect solution.

If others have recommended an RX 560 in a 3,1 you better take the issue up with them. IMHO the performance would likely be too bottlenecked in the 3,1 in any case.

Thanks for your remarks.
Yes, it must be one of those small differences.
At weekend I setup the 3.1 Mac Pro with a fresh 10.12.6 (similar to the working 4.1 Pro)
Remainig differences: sierra patched and hardware.
But no, 2 hours lost for nothing.
OK, the Mac Pro was cleaned ;)

Did you ever get this working in your Mac Pro?

Try to uninstall and reinstall the OS. I had this problem with 5770, but after reinstall it was working normally. :)
