I've just installed an RX 5700 XT in a 5.1 running Monterey on Martin Lo's package that was previously running an RX 480 without issue.

Thought it was going to be a straight swap once I'd the cabling sorted as I've got it connected using two mini-6 pin into 6 pin pcie on an EVGA Power link but despite getting boot chime and disk activity, plus power to the card, I'm not getting any signal through any of the DisplayPorts, boot screen or otherwise.

Can someone please point out the obvious that I'm overlooking as this has me stumped? I thought I'd done my homework on this GPU before pulling the trigger on it. Seller confirmed as working prior to sale and it hasn't been flashed. Any thoughts @tsialex ?

A PC GPU only works after macOS loads the driver, obvioulsy you won't have any pre-boot configuration support.

First thing is to test the RX 5700XT with a PC and confirm that GPU is really working. Then the second thing is to confirm that the card still have the factory firmware, dumping the GPU ROM and checking the hash with the dump from TechPowerUp.

Over the years I learned to never accept seller talk at face value, I always confirm everything.

Even if he/she really tested it, the card could have been damaged while shipping or the card could have been flashed with a crypto mining firmware, some are incompatible with MacPro EFI 1.10.

Thanks @tsialex . I've two 5,1s and a 4,1 but nothing else. I've had mostly good luck on eBay as to be fair few sellers want anything but good feedback, but your points are valid. I knew I wouldn't get boot screen until I'd EnableGOP but I just wanted to see would it load the OS first before doing that.

Guess I'll have to find someone with a PC.
