My MSI Armor RX 580 8gb IDLE temps ( iStats Menus )

1. TWO 1080 monitors IDLE temp = 54 ~55°C.

1 ONE 1080 Monitor IDLE temp = 38 ~ 41°C.

EDITED :
I presume that the AMD published TDP of 145w increases or even doubles - depending on load or if there are TWO monitors connected.

By comparison, my EFI flashed Sapphire DUAL-X 7970 ranged around 55 ~ 65°C IDLE.

If your RX 580 8gb is different to the above example please post your details.

Thanks.

That's normal.

With single monitor, the GPU / VRAM can reduce to 300MHz / 300MHz, power draw should be only around 15W.

With multi monitors connected, the GPU / VRAM will stay at a much higher clock speed, and power draw should be around 40W.

This is the norm of AMD GPU.

Since the much higher idle power draw, the GPU is warmer.

With zero fan mode ON, only passive cooling available below the temperature threshold, which usually make the GPU quite a few degrees warmer when multi monitors connected.

Thanks for that!

I'm often on a US keyboard and have to switch back and forth from the Italian one to get the degree symbol.
