Hi every one, I have been given a sapphire nitro RX-590 + 8g which i would like to fit in my mac pro 4.1, flashed to 5.1 to replace a GTX 680.

The RX-590 has 1 X 8 pin connector and 1 X 6 pin connector.

What power cables are required to power the RX-590?
I see dual 6 pin mini to 8 pin, do you not use the 6 pin on the RX-590 card then?
I see mini 6 pin to 8 pin cables, is it safe to use this on the RX-590? with mini 6 pin to 6 pin standard cable also plugged in so both cables used on card.

which is the best way to go?

thanks in advance?

From the gpu wiki page

AMD Radeon RX 590 8 GB
Performance: 130% RPI. Supports Metal 2 (Mojave).
Power consumption: 8 pins or 8 pins + 6 pins. Most cards does't work if mac 6 pins cable is plugged in 8 pins socket, the converter 6 pins - 8 pins is needed. Additional power is recommended, as minimum - from SATA port.
Outs: as usual has DL-DVI + two DP + two HDMI.
Compatibility: DirectX 12.0, OpenGL 4.6, Metal 2.
Other: occupies 2 slots, no Boot Screen. There are much models with different frequencies. macOS fully supports the card from 10.14.6.
Unflashed (PC version): works out of the box.

Ok thanks, so best idea is duel mini 6 pin to single 8pin for gfx card, and serial ATA to 6 pin for gfx card also.
