S.O.S White Imac 24" died

Hi everyone,

Bad news for me. I have a white imac 24" and i was watching a movie the other day when i heard a really big "boom" sort of sound and the imac was dead. it sound as if something had a shortcut inside. Im familiar with pc but never opened a mac before. Can anyone give me some clues about what could happen and also maybe a link where i can find some technical stuff about what kind of power supply, logic board etc.. it uses and where to get spair part to repair it. Also "how to open it".
