Does S.T.A.L.K.E.R. run "well" on a iMac C2D X1600 256, 2GB RAM? I've heard it requires a really good computer to run properly and I want to make sure before I buy it that it will run under bootcamp.

well I bought the game
It plays fine on 'low' setting at 1240X1048. Anything higher and the game will lag and because the game is so IMO bloody hard it makes a big difference.

hmmm my 2 year old laptop can handle STALKER at medium.
(spec AMD Turion64 2.2 GHz-xp pro x64- x700m 128 1GB)
have you turned off the lighting(forgotten the name but it's something about lighting)?

if you haven't, turn it off, you will get a big fps boost.

a friend of mine runs some settings at high at a low resolution, with few lighting effects on an nVidia 7200.
