Been waiting for a service like this that didn't require you to have a Beats account to migrate playlists. Have not had a chance to test it yet as I am working but figured I would share with the community.

Uhm... If this works, then it's not only ultra-useful for Spotify migration, but as it takes CSV as an input, then it can be used for general playlist building also. I am currently using chart lists from the Internet to build various playlist. This could speed that process up signifcantly, as I could just move these lists to CSV and feed them into this software.

Actually, I had been thinking about writing an AppleScript for that as well. Looks like someone saved me a lot of work. I am a bit pessimistic though, because when I search for songs, it takes a lot of manual work to add exactly the version of the song from the album I prefer. Let's see though.

Running this app as we speak. It does indeed work, with a little bit of "frustration"...Simply put, when it does perform the search/add to my music and the song is not in apple music, it simply gets stuck in share options for that search result and therefore missing the few (2-4) sub-sequent files that are located in the csv. But all in all, saved me a ton of manual labor.

Didn't work for me on my main machine running the El Capitan preview.

I'll try it on Yosemite Mac pro and see what happens.

This would be fantastic if it works, and in fact I was thinking about exporting from Spotify this morning.

Did a test with one playlist that only had 60 tracks. It worked perfectly adding the tracks to My Music. You then need to add them to a playlist within iTunes if you choose to do so.

Pretty neat use of Apple Script. Was fun watching iTunes go through the process.

Hmmm. Didn't work for me. It searched for all the songs but didn't add them! (And yes, I paid my $5...)

Update: I restarted iTunes and it now works. But it is so slow! I wish it would add by Album instead of by track. It would be much quicker and more reliable.

It just crashes for me every time I try to load a playlist.

I read a downside that this doesn't generate a file (text file would be great) of songs it couldn't find.

I have around 20000 songs over playlists so not sure it would work well.

For me it imported around 250 songs from a playlist of 340 - then I got an Accessibility error I couldn't get past. It didn't create a playlist with the songs in either (even when I did a test with only 5 songs in). Still useful however

Some observations:

• You can go to recently added in iTunes My Music and drag the imported songs from there into a new playlist.
• If the song that is being imported is already in "My Music" then it just selects "Play Next" which isn't really a problem apart from the fact that you can't find it so easily later to manually add to the playlist, because it won't be in "recently added"
• It would slow things down, but it would nice if the import tagged the imported songs (so they are easy to find later and add to a playlist), or ideally added them to a playlist as it went along (would selecting, Go To Song > Add To Playlist work from the ... menu?)

I've tried this and it doesn't work on the El Capitan Beta. It searches for music fine, but doesn't add it.
From what I've read else were the easiest way to create playlist after its done its job is to list your music by date added to your library, that way the music is in order to drag into a playlist.
