I have a Series 2, purchased in November 2016. About 2 weeks ago the microphone stopped working. I have Apple Care + so I took it the my local Apple Store hoping for a replacement.
They checked it out and ran a diagnostic and told me they would need to send it to a repair center for further diagnosing. He said it would take about a week and in most cases they will just send me a new or refurbished watch at no cost. I thought with Apple Care + they would give me a replacement in store but I guess I was wrong.

They sent the watch to the repair center on 5/4. On 5/7 I see they received it and also listed it as "repair complete." It was updated to "Your apple watch will be shipped soon."
After 7 days I never received any further updates and as of today 5/12 it still says "Your apple watch will be shipped soon."
I have called the 800 number and also called the apple store and both tell me the same thing, we don't have any further details. We do not know when it will be shipped or received.
I'm not very happy with this delay, I did not think it would take more than a week to replace. Are they backordered?
At this point I don't think there is anything I can do but wait.

Update:
I got a call today from the Apple Store where I took the watch and they told me they had my watch ready for pickup.
Website still says "Your apple watch will be shipped soon."
So I went in to the store and picked it up.
They replaced the broken watch with a refurbished one at no cost to me thanks to AC+. I am not sure why it took 12 days and its frustrating that I had little to no updates.

Maybe it has been sitting at the Apple store and they failed to call you.

Anyway glad you have it back.
