S4 September firmwares

Has anyone else installed the full new September firmwares rolling out for the S4. The MH versions..

It's very fast, no lag, better memory management and battery improvements all round.

Seriously its made me happy to use touchwiz after the smoothness of stock android.

Samfirmware.com has the new firmwares or you can restore to a new firmware in Kies.

You can get firmwares for the S3 on samfirmware but I don't have any first hand experience of them.

The MH8 build is very good though and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who doesn't like the little micro stutters and unresponsiveness that can sometimes effect Touchwiz.

I've seen quite a number of MH8 variation firmwares for both unlocked / unbranded and carrier versions on samfirmware.

If you are unsure just check for update and flash via Kies. If its available it will be there.

I prefer Odin.

Bummer.

On a side note, the Kies backup function doesn't work. It just hangs. Samsung batting 1000 today. They are begging me to get an iPhone 5S it seems.

A sane person wouldn't use Kies. I just backup contacts to Google and I prioritize that over photos and texts.

Apparently kies backs up everything though, including app data, and home screen images, so doing a restore should be super easy...In theory.

I backup everything via google as well just in case.

Amazed you lasted this long and with a Samsung device. I remember you were quite fervent against Samsung.

I personally think you went with the wrong Android device, but what do I know. Sounds like you're itching to get the 5S. You should and be happy.
