S7 45mm doesn't like aftermarket charging docks with Sport Loops

I normally use my Apple dock but tried to switch to an aftermarket stand to hold the fast charge puck. I have had my watch fail to charge two times in the last 10 days when using a Sport Loop and aftermarket charging dock. It seems the angle of the S7 45mm with a Sport loop don't like the surface area to be any larger than the puck. The magnet will attach and start charging but stop at some point because of not having a flat connection.
