Sacred Gold & VM Fusion

Hi Everyone,
Imac newbie here. I have an i7 27" 8Gb ram with VM Fusion and W7 installed using 4GB ram. My problem is playing Sacred Gold in the Virtual Machine through Steam is impossible due to how slowly it runs. Has anyone else had this experience? If I install the Sacred Gold within VM rather than going through Steam, will this fix the problem?
Any advice greatly appreciated, alternatively I guess I could use bootcamp, however I only have an OEM of W7 and I have already used the SN for VM installation, also I believe my wireless keyboard and MM won;t work in bootcamp???

supposedly it runs just fine in Wine except hat in game videos don't work.. might be a more playable option, though Wine can be a bit tricky to use... may look at learning how to use Wineskin, or buying Crossover.
