Hi,
My ibook has been experiencing a kernel panic. The computer does work even though it takes several attempts to turn it on, and the fact that I can't use the wireless connection anymore.
The ideal computer to take the place of my ibook would be a smaller and more powerful 11" MBA. This computer would allow me to travel light, and at the same time to connect it to a largeer screen in case I may need to to do it. The problem is, that this computer is not on the market yet. Speculation and rumors say it that MBAs with sandy bridge processors may hit the market as early as October 2011 and as late as February 2012!
My day to day needs are:
*Watching educational videos from the internet, (homework). They are on youtube as well as on other websites.
*Watching Tv using Eye Tv - I am learning a language and this helps
*Watching a movie once or twice a week, (school & non-school).
*Writing word documents, e-mails, in the forums I consult. I am starting to blog too.
My day to day needs but that I can't use the MBA 11" are:
*Learning Photoshop, and
*learning Autocad, sistem requirements a 2.1 GHz processor
I am picking the computer up in a store before Monday at midday. This means, if it is even a MBA 13", I won't be able to start doing autocad because the requirement is 2.1 GHz. (At the moment, they don't have 2.1 GHz at the store). Will I be able to start learning autocad if the sistem requirements are a tad less ?? At the store, at the moment, one can't add extra RAM.
I have also thought on getting a 13" MBP, that at this moment may be more powerful than the MBAs. Perhaps is a better idea to buy a 13" MBP now, and then resell it when the MBAs are updated. This may be foolish, as I don't know how much value will a MBP lose in six to nine months.
Your thoughts and ideas are very welcome, thank you in advance, kind regards,
igmolinav : ) !!!
