I'm running 10.3.9 on a dual 2.5G5.

I just did a large d/l from software update (itunes5, security update, QT7.0.2 and safari).

When i used safari it crashed as soon as i tried to close a tab when i had at least one other tab open. I have replicated it every time i close a tab.

I did a quick search through forums and found nothing, anyone else having problems?

I'm guessing you restarted after the updates, right? Then, have you repaired permissions? Reset Safari (from the Safari menu)? Deleted the Safari preferences?

Hopefully you'll get it fixed. :)

Cheers resetting safari did the trick, i should have thought about that :)

The reset trick only works for a while, I'm afraid.

I think Safari has problems with certain sites (I strongly suspect it has to do with shady CGI programming) and when you close tabs after visiting those, there's a good chance Safari will crash. I'm using Safari 2.0.1, but I think the problem lies down in the Webkit... :(

For me the crashing occurs several times a week, as the search and "home page function" of my local public library, which I use almost daily, is made with some questionable CGI programming...

Yeh you are right the problem came back, just not as bad.

Since then i have upgraded to tiger and safari 2.0.1, now safari doesnt even open, i have just tried ditching prefs, but it didnt work.

I have also repaired permissions, still just crashes on opening -straight to the bug report window.

I would be happy to post crash logs or something if someone lets me know how to get them

BTW, im now running 10.4.2 (as opposed to the first post)
