Safari 15 has quite a few issues on my iMac. The worst one is that most of the time "download" links don't work.
Just about every site I've been on where I've wanted to download something results in a brief flicker of a pop-up window (assume it's the "downloading" window, but so brief I can't read it) and then nothing.
It is definitely Safari as I can download using Brave with no issues.
There are other odd behaviours which I can't pin down - for example occasionally a site goes dead, i.e. clicking on any icon does nothing, even the page reload icon. The only way to get out is force-quit Safari and start again.

Are any of you having similar issues? Or is my iMac on the way out? :) (just to add another issue, clicked the smilies button and the page shot down to the bottom!!)

I've seen tabs reloading, persistent this page is using a lot of resources messages, failure to load comments sections on multiple sites, general browsing performance slowing to a crawl. Safari 15 definitely DOES NOT feel snappier. ;)

How old is your iMac?

I suspect we're getting to the stage now where Intel systems will suffer because Apple will be optimising for their own architecture.

Hi, glad it's not just me (and seen the thread where people want to backtrack to 14).
My iMac is a late 2017, so Intel - running latest version of Big Sur.
I agree with you, 15 definitely does not feel snappier.

I'm experiencing failure to load comment sections with my M1 Mini, so it's definitely not just an Intel issue. Also, when I open pages in new tabs, many times they don't appear until I click on the first newly opened tab. So I can't always tell if I've been successful in opening a new tab or not.

Speed-wise, it seems to be about the same as 14 to me.

On the iPad Pro I have split screen issues. Prior to iOS 15 I could enter text from my Apple keyboard in both open windows. Since iOS 15 the first window I type in is the one that stays active. I should be able to tap the three dots and select the other window, but that almost never works since the update. Others have confirmed the same issue.

I'll simply add as another frustrated user. M1 Mini - I now try not to use Safari when possible. However, Chrome does work far better but with enough tabs open it also shows massive use of RAM but for the most part continues to function.

What a shame about Safari. I am using Monterey beta. I did have the same issue with Big Sur.

I had problems on one of my customers iMac running Safari 15. Banking websites & eBay stopped working. Page reloads with error. I downloaded a Safari 15.1 Beta and this resolved the issue.

That's good news, hope there's a fix around the corner!

i'm glad it's not just me, i had to stop using it because sometimes if i have a youtube video fullscreen and then switch spaces, i get purple lines across the screen and my Mac locks up. it works fine with any other browser and it also has no problem running games, so my Mac doesn't have faulty graphics thankfully.

Early 2015 MBP running latest big sur...

i also ran the monterey beta on this thing for a bit and that's where i first found this bug, i reported it to Apple but they didn't read it i guess....
