I reinstalled Mac OS but the safari 15 still keeps restoring old session tab from earlier in the day and the same sets of tabs. I switch to new window and reopen fine but once I choose reopen all windows or non private windows from session it keeps reloading the same old tabs from earlier in the day and not the once that were just open. Anyone else has similar issues?

I'm having the same problem on Safari 15.0 (Version 15.0 (16612.1.29.41.4, 16612)), on Big Sur 11.6 (latest).

I've tried restarting the Mac, disabling all extensions, removing the LastSession.plist file (though this no long seems to be updated anyway).

Safari is set to open "All Windows from Last Session". Sys preferences is set to not close windows when quitting an app.

Sometimes Safari is able to restore a very new session. But at other times it appears to jump back in time, restoring a much older session. The "Restore all Windows from Last Session" similarly restores the wrong, old, session when this strikes.

It's frustrating, and is the main thing keeping me from switching to Safari.

Safari 15 on my M1 MBA restore 2 windows but not to the latest state. It's like it restore the old sessions from a couple of hours ago, or sometimes sessions from yesterday.
And it won't restore sessions from tab group windows at all.

There are three files that start with "SafariTabs". First I tried moving out "SafariTabs.db" only and while the session did disappear, it didn't restore when I moved it back. I had to restore all three for it to work, but it did!

I found this in another thread as to where the tabs are now stored instead of lastsession.plist
