Safari 6 password manager comparable to 1password?

I wouldn't say comparable. It just exposes your keychain passwords with an easy way of viewing them in the Safari Preferences dialog.

I haven't seen a screenshot yet to compare but why wouldn't it be worth buying 1password?

Unless it will sync between my iOS and windows devices it's not a replacement.

I'm surprised Keychain support isn't already in iCloud, but as far as I see the new Safari feature is just an alternative to using Keychain Access to view your internet passwords, and a way to actually generate new passwords using the OS X password generator, which is a feature that should have been in Safari years ago.

I'd be interested to know if Safari copes with multiple passwords for the same site or storing of additional HTML fields (for example, automatically selecting "Remember me" or similar on websites when you auto-fill the login).
