should i update safari? it does not show up (8.0.6) in app store updates. and it's safari 8.0.5 running now.

just wondering if this is not meant for 10.10.4? thought it would show up in app store updates...

Do not install this on 10.10.4. If the update were intended for the beta, you'd see it in Software Update/App Store. Most likely Safari 8.0.6 will be in the next beta.

That doesn't make any sense to me. Safari really is an app, not exactly a part of the OS. I'd say install anyway...

No, Webkit is a lot more than just Safari and also gets updated when you update Safari. It affects how html is rendered throughout OS X. Installing updates that aren't intended for a beta release invalidates beta testing since the environment is then in a state that is not tested, nor is it ever intended to be tested.
