Hi there!

I'm having an issue with Safari 8 on 10.10 B4;

When opening a new tab i previous versions of Safari, it would automatically select the address bar so you could instantly start typing a search term or a URL. In Safari 8 however, it doesn't automatically highlight it, so I have to either click it or use Cmd+L to highlight it. Not a massive thing to do, but I definitely prefer the way it used to act.

Thanks for any insight on this!

I had exactly the same problem, that said, a reboot seems to have fixed it (or it may have something to do with plugging into/out of my Thunderbolt Display).

Either way, I also reported the problem.

This seems to be fixed in the latest Yosemite Developer Preview (v6).
