Sometime they work sometime they don't. Otherwise I have to restart system several time to get them alive. Surely this can't be right.

I can't find anywhere anyone else having these problems

I had such issues in the 1st public beta. Haven't had the energy to try again, yet. I hope it's fixed by release.

Ive done a reinstall yesterday and it made no difference. google Chrome is the best at the moment for Browsing it didn't hang like Safari does... Even mail hand and I have to reconnect that to get emails.

What kind of re-install? A fresh install of Yosemite PB2?

I'm having no problems with Safari or Mail.

I went to the recovery and reinstalled it..

How do I do a Fresh Install then please see if that helps..

I guess when i went into the Recovery Mode I should of runs disk utility to erase the HD and then do a reinstall

Where would a Fresh Reinstall help..

Is it really go to fix the issue Ive got? As I dont want to spends ages doing this and it makes no difference As Google Chrome works

What I can't understand is when i do go back to safari it works then it stops then it works. It seems daft

What system do you have ? What hardware if any did you change ? What programs, new or older ?

My system, both brand new, and a 2011 MacMini work very well with Yosemite. I did an upgrade on one ,and a clean install on the other. No issues. Something is wrong with your system. When I did the install I did so with the ethernet/modem and not WiFi if that even makes a difference

Hmmm after searching and reading around some people have altered the DNS to the Google settings and i have done this.. So far seem to done the trick see how things goes

I can't deal with Chrome and the amount of RAM it uses. It's ridiculous.

Safari worked fine for me, and I found Mail much improved.

I have no problem with Safari, but Mail under PB1 crashed upon launch every time. Under PB2, it has managed to stay up for 15 or 20 minutes at a crack. I'm using PostBox instead, which has been rock solid. Apple Mail seems to run fine if I set it up in a new user account with just iCloud mail. Its problems seem to reside with downloading mail (or accessing the IMAP accounts) from the half-dozen accounts I have.

There's definitely some noticeable lag for me when using Safari, but it's my only option as Firefox/Chrome use up 2x the battery on my brand new MacBook Air. During normal use, though, Safari will suddenly go from a 2-second hiccup during DNS lookup (I think this is when it's happening) to taking 30 seconds to do this. Tried a few VPN servers and such to see if it was the DNS server at fault.

Anyone have this Mail problem too?

Hi everyone! I'm new to this kind of stuff and I was intrigued with the thread about Mail and Safari acting up while on the 10.10 Beta. So here is what I got going wrong.

Safari does hang for about 25-30 seconds when i'm trying to browse a page. honestly though it doesn't bother me that much. but i have google chrome too and that works with no hiccup.

My big issue is the Mail app. The email accounts I have (icloud and aol) have correct passwords and all. but what happens with me is that there will be a message that says: "Mail cannot access mailbox information because it's already in use." Also says something about a problem with the server. (???) At this point, I have to settle with going on my mail through a web browser.

Has this happened to anyone else?

PS - My Mac is a Macbook Pro model from late 2010. 13 inch. in case anybody wants to know for the sake of argument.
