sometimes it works alright, sometimes it's little odd, but i've found the way quicktime an safari to interact to be strange, particularly whenever it's one of those click to play dealies. sometimes i get that pinwheel spinning thing forever, i can't cancel the action or even access any of the commands in safari. no quit or close window. just this morning i wasn't even able to force quit it. if i click on the desktop i can usually get control of my computer back so that i can force quit and end this nonsence, but just now it wasn't even letting me force quit. i'd click on it and nothing would happen, the little window wouldn't come up. so eventually it got out of it's funk, but the scroll bar and back buttons and stuff weren't working. luckily i could quit it and start over. but what's up with that? i'm kinda annoyed that windows media player doesn't work when it's in the window of the browser, but for quicktime and safari, they're both made by the same people. it doesn't make much sense.

same here. really annoying. and sad, considering QT is one of the oldest internet technologies out there and Safari is Apple's own browser. you'd think they would get along pretty well.

i've had problems with embeded quicktimes, such as on icompositions.com, where the little slider that shows you where you are in the song/movie don't update unless you mouse over it. then it updates to reflect your position in the song...

also, after i've been running safari for awhile, i find that flash movies, such as on happytreefriends.com, don't update... it will just freeze on one screen then refresh like 15 seconds later, but, all the while, the sound plays fine... with cartoons, that is not very useful to me...

annoying...

Try this:

1. Reset Safari

2. Quit Safari

3. Delete your "com.apple.Safari.plist" and "com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist" files in ~/Library/Preferences

4. Open Safari

5. Reset Safari

6. Quit Safari

7. Repair permissions

8. Open Safari and hope it works
