I have a strange problem in Safari and Time Machine. It's started at some point a few months ago under macOS Sierra and is still there after upgrading to High Sierra (I didn't expect it to disappear when I upgraded).

The problem is that a Time Machine backup and my Safari history both show dates in 2040 as the most recent (the former 22 September 2040 and the latter 19 October 2040). I can't recall ever changing the date on my computer, however I'm a developer so there is a chance that I did that at some point to test something and inadvertently caused this to happen.

How do I remove the unwanted dates from Safari and Time Machine? (Ideally I'd like to avoid clearing my browser history.)

Thanks!
