I don't recall having this problem running iOS4. I was trying to type my zip code into staples' store search part of the website, and I type in 07748. Upon hitting submit, it formats the number to 7,748 and the search results returns 'please enter a valid zip code' or something similar. I thought it was just poor programming on staples' website until a co-worker tried doing a zip code search on another website, and it did the same thing. Thinking it was the leading zero that was causing the problem, we tried 12345 and it formatted to 12,345 and again, caused invalid zip code.

I tried to replicate this problem in Notes, Calendar, Mail, and Messages but to no avail. It only seems to be doing it safari when submitting a form. I looked all through settings in Safari and Keyboard and couldn't find anything about auto-formatting numbers (though I did find you can now add keyboard shortcuts under the keyboard settings... very useful for me trying to type in 8ate8 all the time.. now I just do 888 and it self-corrects, but that's besides the point).

Anyone else have this issue? I did a search on the forum and didn't come up with anything similar to my problem.
