Safari auto opens app store problem

Hi,

10.12.6 here, when i open safari it is automatically opening the app store everytime. I have cleared cache, cleared history. any ideas how to stop this?

It says in preferences, currently open websites - 'customquestweb.com' - but i cannot see that site open anywhere.

I feel like something fishy has gotten into safari as its been acting a little strange.

Any help would be appreciated.

Might have downloaded some ad/malware somewhere along the line with some "free" software. Download and run MalwareBytes to start, to possible delete any background programs messing with your settings.
