I can't believe that in 2019, Safari can't tell you that a webpage is already bookmarked. I use Opera at work and when a webpage is already bookmarked, it has a heart. I think in chrome is a star. Why hasn't apple implemented a very basic feature? Also, the way to manage bookmarks is so basic, you can't do anything useful.

It's incredible how behind Apple is in many things. I hate that they simplistic approach, has led them to believe that we want incomplete, useless things! Do they really not notice it, or they just don't care?

Like, I remember when I used to get many emails with videos and stuff (many years ago) and NOTHING was compatible with Quicktime (and I guess is still this way). Did they never get those chain emails and noticed that nothing worked with their product?) But, well that's another story for another time.

It's horrible. Software-wise, Apple is incredibly far behind in every regard. But hey! emoji bar in MacBook Pro)

Agreed. I don’t think safari is extension friendly either. I run 7 extensions on chrome w/o any slowdowns or issues but safari doesn’t seem to handle anymore than 3 w/o slowing down. That is one of the reasons I’ve moved away from safari on my mac.

To avoid duplicate bookmarks.

I recently decided to try and use Safari full time. There are things I like about it, but in general it feels like a very stripped down web browser. Some may prefer that, and it isn't terrible, but there are times I miss the full feature nature of Firefox and Chrome.

what's missing? i have my favorites in folders on the favorites bar, everything else organized as well. why do i need a heart to show me a site is bookmarked? i have a brain that can do that... and a bookmark.

hmm, i don't have duplicate bookmarks. guess it depends on how you use your browser. and certainly nothing wrong with using chrome or firefox (actually not a fan of firefox; chrome is cool tho).

whatever works. am sure most browser users don't sweat the details, and are more interested in the web than the browser itself.

Exactly! I feel the same way about this. In my use of Safari I don't have many bookmarks and I don't add new bookmarks too often so I don't see how this could be an issue. But I did enjoy the star/heart feature of a site already being bookmarked on Chrome.

Did you complete the safari feedback form?
I do when I have a need and sometimes they implement what I want, sometimes not. But at least it proves me they read suggestions.

If the features requested add value for the majority of users they will consider it I guess.
The heart you request is mostly not needed for 99.99 of users in my opinion sorry :-(
