Seems quite absurd but out of nothing I cannot now write anything in the address/search line of Safari that starts with letter V. I type letter V and it flashes and disappears. I cannot write letter V as the first one. Any other letters work and letter V can be written as next one but not the first one. What kind of BS is this ??? After restarting the computer the same. I want to write for example video - I type v, it flashes and disappears, blank space remains and only ideo is written etc.

Safari - cannot write anything which starts with letter V

I do not have this problem with Safari 13.1 on a 2018 Mini with MacOS 10.15.4. Am using a new bluetooth Apple Magic Keyboard with the numeric keypad (if that matters).
What version of Safari and MacOS are you using? Is it a problem with Firefox as well? I have Safari 13.1.2 and MacOS 10.15.6 (MBP mid 2012) using the built in keyboard and I do not have this problem. I do have the left sided option-control-shift button non-functionality problem, but am living with it.

Agree with Tax. Also, just try restarting Safari. You might also try changing the search engine. Just for fun, turn off WiFi and see if it still happens. Obviously you can't search or connect to any site like this but it might be interesting to see if is related to something outside your computer.
