Safari on all of my iDevices will frequently fail to connect to rockman-gearup.com. Google Chrome, however, works just fine.

This seems to be a new thing with iOS 14 and Safari 14, but I feel like it also happened on Safari 13 as well.

Not a single other website does this to me, emptying caches doesn't seem to make a difference, and no, I'm not switching to Chrome.

Anyone seen this before or know how to fix it?

Sounds like a DNS issue. Do you know what DNS provider(s) you are using?

But first, try this IP in the safari address bar:

54.218.64.76

The administrator of that site updated some DNS settings on his end last night so maybe that cleared the issue. Time will tell.

I’m using Google’s DNS servers.

Forgive me if I’m hesitant to punch random IPs into my browser.

Why - we trusted the address name you supplied for the site?

Is the amp pictured under age or something?

Anyway, did you get through to the site via the IP address (ie without DNS inserting itself into the process)?

I did. Standard URL seems to also be working now as well with the backend changes.

I have the exact same problem, eg with can.com but with various other sites too - randomly. And it happening regardless of Safari version or OS version as my iMac is on the latest Mojave and my MBP on PB10 of Big Sur

Well it's happening again. Safari can't connect but Chrome can no problem. But, after opening the page in Chrome, suddenly it works in Safari.
