"Safari can't find the server"

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite yesterday, 25%+ of the sites I try to load give the error message "Safari can't find the server". These are sites I regularly go to (including one to log into my work server) that have never ever before been an issue. Any suggestions? This is frustrating as I need to be able to access these sites.

Do you have something else eating up your bandwidth, such as downloading large files?
