This doesn't ALWAYS happen, but...

I have a mid-2012 MBP, 2x256GB SSD's, 16GB of RAM. Occasionally, when I open a new tab in safari by right clicking a link and clicking "Open link in new tab" safari will crash. The moment you click it, it closes, the tab doesn't open.

I've been googling around, but has anyone else experienced anything similar and come up with a solution? Right now I'm just using Chrome without issue, and I've set it as my default. But I like Safari too, and I'd use it if I could. I'd say it happens once every 10 or 12 times I open a new tab with that method, seems to have no rhyme or reason as to what tabs I open or what sites I'm on, etc.

Not a single safari crash at all since I got mine 2012 AIR in august when opening tabs by right clicking on links.

when it crashes that way open the console app and check a string similar to this one near the time the crash happened:
Safari: Received an invalid message from the web process with message ID 323002f

Well try this then. Hold down command and click on the link that you want opened in a new tab. That works also, although I don't have a problem right clicking a link to open a new tab. But it seems faster holding command and click link to get a new tab. Try it for the heck of it and see if it works that way for you. 
