Since I've updated to Catalina I always see pop up ads on some sites. But in the settings the blocker is enabled. Is it a Catalina issue, too?

Which blocker? Try deleting and reinstalling or there are posts recommending ad blockers.

I have noticed this too. Unless the websites have worked out a way around the block. It’s always a game of cat and mouse.

It seems like a Safari problem. Yes, I have an adblocker (Better Blocker), but it's only there for trackers. The Pop Up blocker from Safari is broken.

I never replied on any browser's own "block pop-ups" but use AdGuard Pro. There's others.

Sites have gotten more aggressive with cookies, disable your blocker notices, etc. Even after paid subscription one site "ad free" puts a "ad removed" in its place. Disgusting. No more $15/mo from me and refuse to visit site.

If Safari doesn't work, Edge or Firefox or Brave might.
