I don't know about any Safari extension, but this site claims to do it for any browser without installing anything. I haven't tested it, but it came up in search results from Googling your thread title: http://saveallimages.com

Not a plugin, but this little program will extract info out of a Safari webarchive format file.

So, in Safari, Save As, specify webarchive. Start above and drag/drop the webarchive file to it. Will create a folder structure with all the saved elements, including images.
