Safari favorite bar problem

I use the favorite bar in safari and noticed I had problems with the Favorite bar not reacting when i press links in it.
after years i finally realize that pressing the actual icon does nothing.. you have to press the text in the link.
It feels strange? I have some link only 2 letters and pressing them is difficult.. to press the icone seems very intuitive

I tested with the pencil and correct only the text can be pressed?!

The icons in the favourites bar have only come in since iPadOS17. But yes, it is only the text that appears to be clickable.
