Safari History

My safari history only remembers the past 4 days, and I can't figure out how to make it remember further back. any ideas?



And before you ask, no I'm not a 15 year old trying to cover up my tracks, I found some great sites 5 or 6 days ago and they're gone!

Open the Safari preferences file (com.apple.Safari.plist) while Safari is closed using TextEdit. Search for WebKitHistoryAgeInDaysLimit, and change that section to look like this:

 <key>WebKitHistoryAgeInDaysLimit</key>
 <string>XXX</string>
 <key>WebKitHistoryItemLimit</key>
 <string>9999</string>

Where XXX is the number of days you want. Note that I haven't tried this since Panther when I was dropping the length back to zero so no guaranties.

Another option is just to use onyx (there are tons of software that will do this too) and go into appearance >> safari >> number of pages in history.

Yeah, Onyx is probably the safer option although they both do the same thing.
